Then, at the Special Travel Fair in the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam, we came across an unknown provider for us: Inspiring Colombia. Never heard of them. What and who is behind this, and is it reliable?
We asked Inspiring Colombia for a proposal and the first version we received already looked very promising and came at a reasonable price. We decided to take the risk, and after three weeks of traveling through Colombia, we are very satisfied: it exceeded our expectations, hence the excellent rating.
We traveled with a car and driver, had local guides, and stayed in budget hotels. We were repeatedly amazed by what we got for our money and found the price-quality ratio to be outstanding. That’s why we wholeheartedly recommend traveling with this amazing organization!

After watching the TV show “Who is the mole” which was made in Colombia in 2019, this country was one of the destinations we wanted to visit.
After doing some research on our own, we reached out to Mark from Inspiring Colombia (IC), who refined our wishes into a beautiful and manageable travel plan. The planning process was always pleasant, with open communication and attention to our (family) preferences. In just two weeks, we were able to see and experience so many wonderful things. The great cities, stunning nature, charming hotels, and friendly locals made this trip unforgettable.
The local guides selected by Mark and his team in Colombia arranged incredible excursions with captivating stories that made activities like city tours or hikes extra special. We traveled with several drivers, all of whom were friendly, punctual, and professional. Even when we wanted to spend a little extra time in Tayrona, it was easily arranged with IC’s local guide in Colombia.
The insider tips, especially the spots not commonly found in guidebooks, were a real highlight. Jérico ended up being one of the most beautiful and authentic places we visited.

For our trip to Colombia, we had a few clear wishes: we did not want to change hotels every day and we did not want to drive by ourselves. And we wanted to stay in charming small hotels.
We discussed our plans with Mark from Inspiring Colombia (IC) and he quickly came up with a proposal that suited us perfectly. That’s why we decided to accept the offer of IC and we do not regret it at all. On the contrary.
In the past, we had traveled by ourselves in South America, and our experience was that not everything goes as planned. This time, we were surprised that the entire trip went exactly as scheduled.
We traveled by taxi, and the drivers were always on time and very friendly. The guides took their time and genuinely enjoyed showing us around. Every excursion was interesting, but our visit to the coffee farm Finca La Mina and the canoe trip through the mangrove forest on Isla Grande (part of the Rosario Islands) were particularly unforgettable.
We also thoroughly enjoyed the small-scale hotels, which often had beautiful trees and plants, and consistently offered excellent service.

Everything was superbly arranged: a small-scale, intimate location with an incredibly friendly and helpful staff who had extensive knowledge of the area. Watching the sun set in the silence of nature, surrounded by pink dolphins and with no one else in sight: it was the ultimate way to experience this majestic wilderness.

From there we went to colorful and lively Cartagena and to the Rosario Islands to relax at the beach.

Throughout the journey, we saw beautiful routes and landscapes, staying in top locations such as the coffee region and near Tayrona Park. We finished our round trip with a few relaxing days on Isla Grande in the Rosario Islands.
The trip was arranged by Inspiring Colombia. Our personal preferences, shared during conversations in the planning phase, were reflected throughout the journey. After two previous visits to this beautiful country, we returned this time because our son was meeting his family there. There were many arrangements to be made regarding a translator, guide, transportation, etc. We didn’t want to spend too much time traveling, but still wanted to enjoy our trip.
Our journey took us from Bogotá to Cartagena, and then a 3-hour drive to the Sanguaré Nature Reserve, proposed by Inspiring Colombia. We arrived in a paradise: the food was delicious and always a surprise. With a guide, we went kayaking and snorkeling and some other activities. We highly recommend this beautiful location.
From there, we returned to Cartagena, where we were able to enjoy this beautiful city for a few more days. The taxis arranged by Inspiring Colombia had excellent drivers who took us to all our destinations.
Summarizing, we really enjoyed our trip and were very satisfied with how everything was organized.

What a fantastic country is Colombia: many different highlights, friendly people, nice climate. And you can enjoy delicious Colombian food.

Colombia was on our list of destinations this year, so we went to the Special Travel Fair to get some ideas. That’s where we met Mark from Inspiring Colombia. After a great conversation (Mark made us even more excited about the trip), we left our phone number, and Mark later called us to discuss how we envisioned our trip to Colombia and what our preferences were.
Soon after, we received a first itinerary from Mark, which incorporated our wishes. After making a few small adjustments, we agreed on a 23-day trip organized by Mark and his team.
Finally, the day arrived, and from start to finish, our trip was excellently arranged.
Colombia is a beautiful country, with very friendly people, stunning nature, and amazing wildlife (in which we are particularly interested).
Our itinerary brought us to four different regions, which made the trip extra special. We traveled by car with a driver and a few domestic flights, and were happy to stay in basic hotels/lodges. The drivers were all very polite, and the cars were in good condition. The domestic flights were well-organized, and the hotels/lodges were wonderful (most of them more than just basic). The guides we had were very professional and eager to show and tell us about their country.
Mark and his team organized everything perfectly. It was also very convenient that in case we needed assistance we could contact one of Mark’s colleagues in Colombia in English.
In short, our trip to Colombia was truly fantastic. We are extremely grateful to Mark and his team and will definitely recommend Inspiring Colombia!
